BioGiv at The Hebrew University
After a long and successful record working with biotech companies such as Teva, BioLineRx, Protalics, Sigma, Evogene, Compugen and many others the Science Faculty of The Hebrew University has turned to early stage startups. With the belief that the most significant impact can be made with early stage companies, where research can be expedited while minimizing costs, The Hebrew University has launched the BioGiv “Excubator.”
As part of The Faculty of Science on the Edmond J. Safra Campus the “Excubator” infrastructure center shares the vast scientific knowledge and expertise of the Hebrew University with early-stage biotech and biomed companies, supports the development of new technologies and strengthens the biotech sector in Israel.
Top Notch Facilities and Services
The Hebrew University excubator model offers the use of furnished and equipped laboratory space, access to specialized equipment, research service centers and experts, all operating in an IP-free zone.
World Renowned Mentors
Based on a well-established academic model, the core facility personnel train biotech researchers in operating specialized equipment, and implementing research methodologies in standard operating procedures (SOP) adapted for biotech industry requirements. In addition, HUJI staff offer strategic planning and support in core facilities such as genomics, protein production, electron and confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, mass spectroscopy and isotopic analysis. All researchers will train and comply with the safety regulations and requirements of the Hebrew University.
Companies receive access to:
- Electronic libraries and databases
- Service units (genomics, protein production, electron and confocal microscopy, NMR, X-ray crystallography, isotopic analysis, microanalysis, etc,)
- The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
- The Center for Three-Dimensional and Functional Printing
- The Center for Bioengineering
- Interdepartmental Instrumentation unit
